In search of hidden treasures (6 days/ 5 nights)



Day 1: Bucharest – arrival

Arrival at the International airport of Bucharest and pick-up your rented car from the rent-a-car office. Transfer to the selected hotel for check-in.






Day 2: Bucharest  →  Sibiu

Depart to Sibiu, selected as European Capital of Culture for 2007. Here you can admire the Large Square with the Council Tower, the Small Square, the Liars’ Bridge, the Brukenthal Museum, the Evangelical, Orthodox and Catholic Churches. Overnight.





Day 3: Sibiu  →  Alba–Iulia  →  Targu Mures

Today you can visit the city of Alba-Iulia, capital of the Principality of Transylvania between 1541 and 1690. Its main sights are: the Union Hall with the National Honour Galery, the National History Museum of Unification, the Princely Palace (Voivodal Palace), the Orthodox and the Roman Catholic cathedrals. Arrive in Targu Mures, important cultural centre of Transylvania, walk through the Roses’ Square and visit the Cultural Palace. Overnight in the selected hotel.



Day 4: Targu Mures  →  Sighisoara  →  Brasov

Visit today the medieval citadel of Sighisoara – one of the most beautiful citadels in Europe that is still inhabited. Visit the Clock Tower, the Museum of History, the Torture Chamber and the Medieval Weapons’ Museum. Climb the Scholars’ Stairs and get to the Church on the Hill. In the afternoon arrive in Brasov – located in the central part of the country. Admire the Council Square with the Black Church, sit in the benches of the first Romanian school and walk on the Rope Street – the narrowest street in Romania. You can taste the delicious Romanian dishes in one of the typical restaurants. Overnight.

Day 5: Brasov  →  Bran  →  Sinaia  →  Brasov

Dare to enter Bran’s Castle, worldwide known as “Dracula’s Castle” due to the American movie directors. Visit the Peles Castle in Sinaia – former residence of the royal family, nowadays hosts an impressive collection of art objects and weapons. Return to Brasov for overnight.





Day 6: Brasov  →  Bucharest

Depart to Bucharest. Enjoy a tour of the Romanian capital, among its highlights you can see the Arch of Triumph, the Village Museum – an open-air ethnographic museum that shows more than 250 original farms and houses from all over the country, Revolution Square, Romanian Athenaeum, the former Royal Palace (nowadays hosts the National Museum of Art), People’s Palace – the world’s second biggest administrative building after the Pentagon, Calea Victoriei – the oldest street of Bucharest, famous for its buildings’ architecture and for the luxury shops opened here. Overnight in the selected hotel.

Day 7: Bucharest and surroundings

Spend this day exploring Bucharest’s old city centre with its impressive architecture, small hidden shops and enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants and terraces. If you want you can visit the capital’s surroundings: Snagov (the legend says that here lays buried the head of Vlad the Impaler – prince of Wallachia, also known as Vlad the Demon) of maybe Mogosoaia Palace (10 kilometres from Bucharest) built around year 1700 in what is called the Romanian Renaissance style or Brâncovenesc style, a combination of Venetian and Ottoman elements.


Day 8: Bucharest - departure

According to the flight schedule, depart directly to the airport of Bucharest. Drop-off the rented car here. End of our services.
